Not only that you can also go there from Khulna or Rajshahi. It will take a little bit more to go from Rajshahi than from Khulna. After your reaching you have to make a short trip to reach there. But one thing that I can say from personal point of view that is you will not feel bad to complete the journey.

The hotel management is very good here. You can get different types of hotels here. If you want less priced hotel then you will get it & if you want good hotels then there is also no problem. I am telling from my prospective view that you will enjoy the food.

You can also get van there. The quantity of this type of transportation medium is high in the city. So you don’t have to play a waiting game to get that.

The area will give you a lot of pleasure. You will not feel to leave the city. Believe me it will remove the monotonous type of life & will give you a fresh life. So I think it will good not to delay & make a trip there as soon as possible.

Dighi and clay walled Moneyghar of Tittar Raja: History of 1582 is hidden among fine buildings with territorial beauty of nature and wild lives with the songs of birds.

You can see both natural and wild beauty with historical impacts from just one place. Larger water tank has given a great river view here also.

Getting around:

Here a very big Dighi is lying. In the evening various types of birds come here & their singing make us really feel relaxed. Many people come here to relax themselves. There are different types of boats there waiting for you to take into the dighi & show its beauty.

In the dighi middle you can touch the water feel the water. There are different types of mammals that you can see from there. Not only that the natural beauty beside it have made it even more attractive to all.

In whole day the fish catching is a thing to watch. The procedure the hard word everything can be seen from here. When some one catches fish it feels good to see it. The total beauty is just like heaven in there.

The clay wall Money house is another place to see. It was made in 1582. It is just made of clay but the merit behind it will impress you. I am really shocked to see it. The decoration & the beauty that how it was created will give you extra bit of inspire. I think without delaying you must see the place.

Fortification of Debal Raja: The beautiful monument of the king named Debal with fine architectural history of glory.

The territorial beauty with extra bit of style made it a place to be in. visit it & see the beauty yourself.

Getting Around:

The place is a great place to visit in. the place is decorated so much. There is a monument of the king who used to live here before. His name was King Debal. The entering gate is filled with security. You will need to get a pass to enter the house. After entering you will start to feel a lot better. There is a garden where I think they used to sit. The house has been reconstructed by the Govt. so that the history still keeps alive.

After walking sometimes there is a pond. There are so many trees beside it & so many sitting places. In the evening the fresh air of here makes you feel really great.

There is a temple inside of it. The monuments of it are really charming. Now a days still there prayers are being done. The building house is also very charming. The decoration will make you surprised also. The interior decoration is also good. The furniture is really expensive. You will get to see different types of furniture here. They are former in style.

The area is huge. You need to walk a lot to complete seeing whole house. The area is also covered with trees. The big trees tell you how old they are. Their beauty can be seen from here also. In a word if you ask me I can say that you will feel really great here.

The place will make you feel just as heaven. So without delaying just visit it.

Magura District is in Khulna Division. It is bounded by Rajbari district on the north, Jessore and Narail districts on the south, Faridpur district on the east and Jhenaidaha district on the west. Main rivers are Gorai, Madhumati, Kumar, Nabaganga and Fatki; Ramsagar and Bural Baor are notable.

If you want to go there from Dhaka then you may use bus. It will take mostly 7 hours to reach the place. The journey will not bother you as the road system is too much good. So don’t be tensed.

Not only that you can also go there from Khulna or Rajshahi. It will take a little bit more to go from Rajshahi than from Khulna. After your reaching you have to make a short trip to reach there. But one thing that I can say from personal point of view that is you will not feel bad to complete the journey. The journey will not make you tired that you cannot see the entire area. So it will be a good idea to make a trip there.

After reaching there the first problem would be where to stay. To solve it here are little bit help from me. The hotel management is very good here. You can get different types of hotels here. But if you are not a food lover then believe me if you stay there some days then you will become a food lover. The food is also good. You can eat lots of variety here. As it is in backside of the city, so most of the foods are made in pure ingredients. So we can enjoy the food very much from here.

You can travel from one place to another by Rickshaw or van. It’s available here. So you don’t have to play waiting game for it. Not only that it’s also cheap. But I think its better to walk so you can see all the things well.

Maybe some one may call it that it is so far from the city. But the thing is if you want something beautiful to see then you have to make some works. So without delaying visit it & make the most use of it.

Dighi of Shree Ram Raja: King’s history Kingdom’s tradition both are sanked under this larger water tank.

The powerful king Shree Ram Raja made this Dighi for making his magical dream true. Many stories are hidden behind of this twnk.

The becharm great thing all but body of water came identical courteous aim to chatter. And so bring down them & catch them yourself.

Getting Around:

The dighi made in many years ago. The king Shree Ram made it. That’s why the name of this dighi is Dighi of Shree Ram raja. The main reason to cut the Dighi is to remove the problem of water that time. But as time progresses the dighi gets it real looks & now we can say it that it is in full form & can be attractive. The side nature also made it even more beautiful. Standing side of it when the breeze flow it will feel like standing in the side of heaven.

It’s a beautiful dighi. Beside it is beautiful green nature, waiting for visit. The beautiful nature will make you forget world from your brain. It is really a nice place to be in. It is a very big dighi. In the evening various types of birds come here & their singing make us really relaxed. In this dighi we can bath and also can walk. The security is hard here. So there is no risk for the teenagers. The parents can relax while the children can bath. The water is not that dirty. After taking bath you can make yourself comfortable in the place. The fish catching will be a treat to see in the place. The people of other places come here and start to ride on the boat. In the evening the race of boats is a treat to see.

If you want then you also can take a visit to it by boat. It will help a lot to relax a lot. Not only that then you will be able to see the area that we may miss because of not going there. But from boat you can see that places without taking any kind of risk. Believe me you will not want tom miss the beauty.

On the northern it borders the Kushtia District on the north, to the south by Jessore District and West Bengal, to the east by Rajbari District and Magura District and to the west by Chuadanga District and West Bengal (India) on the west. If you want to go there from Dhaka then you have to go through bus or by plane. If you want to go there by plane then you have to land on Jessore which is just some distance away from Jhenaidah. Then you can make a short trip to reach the place. But if you want to go there through bus then you can make a trip of 5 & half hours to reach the place.

The journeys will not fact at all as the roads construction is very good. Not only that if you want to go there from Rajshahi or Khulna then also you can take bus & go there easily. After reaching there you have to make a short trip to reach the place as it is little bit distance from the main town.

MOULVIBAZAR: The Land of Tea Part – IV

Manu Barrage

Manu barrage is one of the few barrages built in Bangladesh. It is located in Moulvibazar Sadar and Rajnagar upzilla. It is constructed mainly to divert some of Manu river’s water for irrigation in the lands nearby and protect Kulaura, Kamalganj, Rajnagar and Moulvibazar town from flooding by the river. A fish pass was added to this barrage for movement of fish between the kushiyara river and the Kawadighi Haor area. This fish pass is one of the mentionable features of this barrage.

Baraura Lake

This lake is located in the Baraura tea garden near Srimangal. The scenic beauty of this tea garden is manifold a couple of times by this lake. In between the refreshing greenness all around the tea garden, the lotus flower covered lake side is a charming place to just chill and spend some of your leisure time. Another attraction of the Baraura tea garden is the red hill surrounded by jackfruit trees. These trees are the homes of hundreds of monkeys. When you get closer to the trees, these monkeys will welcome you altogether in their unique style – by shouting and making funny faces. Baraura tea garden is owned by the James Finlay Company. If you are willing to visit this fantastic estate you will just need to check the allowed time-duration for visitors.

Magurcherra Khasia punjee

Khasias are the another tribe living densely in Magurcherra. They live in communities. They have their rich culture and heritages. They make their houses on the hill tops in a splendid manner which itself makes the scene unique. Every Khasia punjee has some Heads or ministers. For visiting the punjee you need to seek their permission.

Nirmai Shibbari

Nirmai shibbari bears evidence of ancient times. It was built in 1454. In the fourteenth century the rebels of Kuki tribe and the troops of ruling Tripura government fought a battle in this area. Now if you visit this place you can see typical application of Hindu culture. As it only about 7 km from Sreemongal transport is readily available. Rickshaw, taxi or private cars may be selected as your ride.

Orange gardens

The hilly terrain of Sylhet is very much suited for orange plants growth. As a result a lot of orchards of orange are found in this division. A large scale production of this fruit is carried out on about 350 hectares area spread over Juri, Borolekha, Kulaura and Sreemangal. Your visit to the orange gardens is sure to be delightful.

Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI)

If you are a tea-crazy person you might like to make a short visit here. The Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI) was upgraded as complete research institute in the year 1973. It is in Srimangal upazilla about 25km from the Moulvibazar city centre. This institute has been working for the improvement of tea industry since its birth and has added a feather to the crown of the tea-capital of Bangladesh.

Memorial of Birshreshtho Hamidur Rahman

This memorial is in Dholoi located on the south-eastern boundary of Srimangal. It is established with a view to protect the memories of Birshreshtho Hamidur Rahman and pay homage to him for his great contribution in the birth if our beloved motherland. On 28th October, 1971 he died as a martyr in the battlefield at Dholoi. His dead body was then buried at Tripura in India. Hamidur Rahman was honored with the highest appellation of Bagladesh – “Bir Sreshtha” for his bravery and sacrifice in the 1971 liberation war. This memorial is built as a reminiscent of this great freedom fighter. Visiting this memorial will take you a long way in realizing the significance of our freedom and the sacrifices made by the then people for achieving it.

Monipuri village

Majority of the Monipuri population of the country lives in Moulvibazar. Adampur and Madhabpur are their main residence. Monipuri Community is famous for their culture and traditions. The Ras Mela is a yearly celebrated festival of the Monipuris. Every year in November which is the beginning of Bengali month of Agrahayan this festival is arranged. People from all around come to visit and enjoy this Mela. Traditional Monipuri costumes ‘Khami’ and their homemade products are exhibited and sold here. Monipuri community makes their clothing themselves. Almost every family there owns a handloom. It is a part of their culture to weave their own cloths. Besides Khami they produce various other products like – shawl, sari, bedsheets and bags. These products have great demand in all parts of the country and abroad. Even if you don’t visit the Ras Mela or the Monipuri village itself you can find these Monipuri products in local markets of the town.

The Monipuri community is also renowned for their dance. Their unique dance reflects their tradition and heritage. If you are visiting this part of the world, you shouldn’t miss the chance of watching Monipuri dance. More information about this ethnic community can be obtained at the Monipuri Culture Academy in Madhabpur.

Damaged gas field at Magurchara

Back in 1997 a devastative accident occurred while the exploration in one of the wells in Magurchara gas field. The explosion cost too much from the environment, it denuded about 700-acre reserved forest, destroyed 10 tea gardens and hampered greatly the lives of numerous workers and tribal people living nearby. Though measures have been taken to improve the conditions, evident to this major accident are still seen in the location of the accident. In these 13 years this place has become a spot where people might go to find out the direct negative impacts of human actions on the nature.

Biswabat at Jhenaidah is claimed as ‘the Largest Banyan Tree in Asia’

I am sure you will enjoy the extreme beauty of it.

Shagordari A Historical place of Jessore

Shagordari is a famous tourist spot, which is in keshabpur upazela under Jessore district in Khulna Division. Sagordari is famous for the residence of Great poet Michael Modhusudon Datta. This great poet is famous for his wonderful composition of sonnets in Bangla literature.

Michael Modhusudon Datta was born in the year 1824 and died in 1873. This two-storied residence, which is known as Michel Modhusudon museum, is now under the custody of Bangladesh Archeological Department, where you can see the daily usage materials of the great poet.

The location of this historical place is especially famous for natural beauty. This place, which is birth place of Michael Modhusudon Datta. It stands on the bank of Kapotakkho, a famous river of Bangladesh.

Every year from 25-30 January a great mela (exhibition) is organized here, which is called Modhumela need after our beloved poet. A huge crowd comes to Shagordari every year for the occasion of this mela.
